Cranford Athletic Turf Fund
Bring Turf to Memorial Field
The Cranford Athletic Turf Fund (the "CAT Fund") is a non-profit, grassroots organization formed to raise the money needed to replace the grass field at Memorial Field with FieldTurf, the same surface that's been approved or already installed in Clark, Garwood, Westfield, Scotch Plains and other towns in our vicinity.
The CAT Fund Goal: install FieldTurf at no additional cost to Cranford taxpayers.
The CAT Fund includes representatives from the Cranford Soccer Club, Cranford Lacrosse Club, Cranford Schools, Cranford Athletics, Cranford Police Athletic League, Cranford Jaycees, Cranford High School Booster Club, Cranford Baseball & Softball League and other interested parents and parties.
Benefits of FieldTurf at Memorial Field:
- Low maintenance
- Increased usage of field
- Leveling the competitive playing field with neighboring towns
- Fewer game cancellations
- Safer playing surface/fewer injuries to athletes
- Water conservation (no watering)
About FieldTurf: learn more about FieldTurf at www.fieldturf.com Unlike some other artificial field surfaces, there are no lead concerns or other health problems with FieldTurf.
Get involved: The CAT Fund needs volunteers to organize events and solicit donations.
